Maynard Okereke is the super fun science nerd behind MayNERD’S Wild World of Science! He’s not just a science lover, he’s an actual Engineer who turned his love for music, acting, and science into a mission to make learning exciting for kids everywhere.

Whether it’s crazy nature explorations through the jungle or experiencing zero gravity on the vomit comet, he brings a unique, curious energy to all his scientific adventures.  He’s been on Netflix’s “Ada Twist, Scientist,” shared cool facts on The Science Channel, talked about science with space companies like Blue Origin, and even explored the newest tech innovations with 3M!

He started Hip Hop Science to show others—especially those who don’t always see themselves in science—that anyone can be a scientist if they stay curious.  Maynard has brought the wonder of science to educator and student workshops across the country, and also partnered with a number of museums and STEM organizations across the globe.   

He’s even won real awards for his awesome work, like the Asteroid Award for Best Streaming Content and Entrepreneur of the Year from the National Society of Black Engineers.
